One way Hart Electric Membership Corporation serves the community is through the Hart EMC Foundation.
The foundation’s mission is to assist with the food, health, safety, shelter, education, and economic development and cultural enrichment in the service area of Hart Electric Membership Corporation.
The foundation’s funding is from Operation Round Up and the abandoned capital credits. Georgia House Bill 431 allows the cooperative to donate any abandoned capital credits for designated purposes in Hart EMC’s service area.
The Operation Round Up donations are used specifically for 501 (c) (3) status organizations serving within our 6 county service area.
Abandoned capital credits are used to fund the Bright Ideas Program and Hart EMC Foundation Scholarship Program and is governed by the Foundation Board of Directors.
