Oops the lights are out!
The first step in power restoration is that we know your power is out. From our Control Center in Hartwell, we are able to monitor the status of all our Substation breakers and are immediately notified when one of these devices trip out. This rarely happens, but if it does, thousands of members are out of power at the same time.
Most of the time, we are alerted to the outage by you, the member, via the telephone.
It’s important to have the following information ready when you call:
- Name on the account
- Phone number where you can be reached
- Any other relevant information, such as power lines on the ground, tree on the line, etc.
- If you have multiple accounts, make sure to specify the locations that are affected.
Your information is then entered into our system so the work crews can be sent to get you power back on.
